Auto transport
Shipping your car with auto carriers is the easiest way to move your car without putting extra kilometers on it or dealing with a lot of hassle.
These big trailers can carry 8 to 12 cars at the time, which makes it cheaper for you. A lot cheaper than hiring a private tow truck.
You can use this service when you are moving to a place, when you buy or sell a car online, when you need to move a lot of cars at once, when you import or export cars, when you want to escape the winter or when you need to tow a car that does not run to a mechanic.
Key Options
- Open Transport: this is an option if you want to save money and you have a sedan, SUV, van or small truck. They will use straps and chocks to secure your car on a trailer. Your car will be out in the weather. This is a reliable way to ship your car on major highways.
- Enclosed Transport: this option costs a lot more, it is 40 to 80 percent more expensive. It is really good for luxury cars, classic cars, exotic cars and vintage cars. Our carrier partners will put your car inside a trailer. This trailer will keep your car safe from rain, stones, salt and debris. You have a couple of choices for how to get your car to and, from the trailer. You can have the car picked up and delivered door to door, or you can pick it up and drop it off at a terminal to save some money.
The process is simple
You get a quote and then you book your shipment 1 to 4 weeks ahead of time to get the best rate. You need to give us some information about your car like the make, model, year. If it runs or not, the size and weight of your car and where/when you want to ship it.
Then you need to get your car ready by cleaning it, taking pictures of it, removing all your things from the car and making sure the gas tank is not too full. If your car does not run you need to let us know upfront so we get ready for proper loading.
The driver will inspect your car when he picks it up. He will secure it with a Bill of Lading and then you can track your car while it is on the way.
When your car is delivered you need to inspect it before you sign anything.
Shipping your car with auto carriers has a lot of benefits
It saves your car from getting more kilometers on it, it saves your car from getting scratched or damaged and it saves you from getting tired.
Insurance and safety
Your car will be insured while it is being shipped. You need to check the details of the insurance to see what is covered and what is not. The people who ship your car are professionals so they know how to load and unload your car safely. The drivers check the equipment regularly to make sure everything is working properly.
Specific cases
If you are shipping your car to another country you may have to deal with customs and VAT (it’s easier and cheaper within the EU). If you have a luxury car it will get priority and it will be put on the top deck. If you have a lot of cars to ship you can get a deal.
Why choose our service
We don’t have any hidden fees, you can track your car in real time and we have real people behind our customer service.
We can ship your car safely. Without any stress whether it is an old car that needs to be restored or a brand new car.
Van transport
Shipping your van via a car carrier is the straightforward way to relocate it without driving fatigue or extra miles. Using shared trailers keeps costs reasonable, and they optimize routes to dodge bad weather, ensuring quick delivery for business continuity.
Perfect for work vans during moves or job changes, fleet shifts for delivery companies, plumbers, builders, or electricians, online purchases from abroad, sales to distant buyers, or imports/exports for dealers.
Options
- Open Transport: cheapest for cargo or panel vans, secured with straps on open trailers (may get road dirt).
- Enclosed Transport: costs more, but it is ideal for custom vans or high-roof vans whenever possible. This method protects your vehicle from weather and debris because it is in a trailer.
How it works
You can get a quote easily, just share some details about your vehicle. These include the make, model and year. You also need to provide the dimensions. This includes the height. Whether you have roof racks. You should also share if the vehicle is running. Tell us the locations and dates you need the transport. Booking a week ahead can get you the best rates.
To prepare your vehicle clean the inside and outside. Take photographs of it. Reduce the fuel to a quarter of a tank. Remove any items and gas cylinders. They are not insured. Disable the alarms. Fold in the mirrors. Check the tires.
The driver will inspect the vehicle with you when they pick it up. They will note any damage. You can track the vehicle as it travels. The driver will inspect the vehicle again when it arrives at its destination.
Choose us for transparent quotes, no hidden fees, real-time tracking, simple and safe van shipping which saves time and stress.
Transportation of dangerous goods and general goods
Shipping goods, including dangerous ADR items and general cargo through our carrier partners is the smart way to move pallets, boxes, or full loads without van rentals or multiple trips.
We combine shipments where possible to keep prices reasonable. This works well for business inventory, house moves, site supplies, wholesale goods, chilled food deliveries, warehouse clearances, or imports and exports across Europe.
We offer two main options for cargo shipping
- Groupage or pallet transport (LTL): is the most affordable choice. Your goods travel on a shared truck, safely secured on pallets or in sturdy cartons.
- Full Truckload (FTL): is for loads that are bigger or more delicate. The truck is only for your shipment, so it goes door-to-door faster and with less handling.
Process
Request a quick quote with weight, volume, dimensions, goods type, addresses, and dates (book 1 to 4 weeks ahead for the best price).
Preparations
To get ready, pack everything up tightly, make sure the labels are clear (especially for fragile items or “this side up”), take some pictures, and organize all the paperwork, including customs forms for moves to other countries.
The carriers inspect at pickup, track en route, and notify for delivery inspection.
Benefits of the service
Saves time, fuel, and effort; pros handle loading expertly. Cargos have insurance coverage for damage (declare high-value/ADR for certified handling).

How to ship a vehicle from one European country to another?
Shipping a vehicle from one country to another is pretty easy. If you are shipping inside the European Union it is even easier because you do not have to go through customs. The best way to ship your vehicle is by road. You can use a truck that can carry many vehicles at the same time. These trucks are called auto carriers. They can carry 8 to 12 vehicles. If you need to ship your vehicle to an island you can use a ferry or a container to ship it.
To get started you should ask for a quote. You just need to tell us what kind of vehicle you have, where you want to pick it up and where you want to drop it off and when you want to do it. It is an idea to book your shipping at least 1 to 4 weeks in advance so you can get a better price. Before you ship your vehicle you should clean it well, take out any personal things and make sure the fuel tank has bare minimum fuel in it, not more than that. You should also take some pictures of your vehicle. Get all the paperwork ready like the registration and insurance.
When you ship your vehicle you can choose to have it picked up at your door or you can take it to a terminal. You will be able to track your vehicle all the time. The cost of shipping your vehicle will depend on how it has to go but it usually costs between 300 euros and 1000 euros. It is safer and less tiring to ship your vehicle than to drive it yourself. You will not have to worry about putting miles on your vehicle and you will not get stressed from driving. You should choose a shipping company that’s honest about their fees and has a good tracking system so you can have a easy time shipping your vehicle in Europe.

How do the prices change for enclosed vs open auto transport?
Enclosed auto transport usually costs a lot more than open trailer transport in Europe.
Prices for open trailer transport do vary themselves already because of how far the car is going, what kind of car it’s which roads it takes. For instance if you want to send a car from Italy to Spain it might cost between 700 and 1000 euros on an open truck.. If you want to send it in an enclosed truck it could cost between 1000 and 1400 euros.
You pay more for enclosed transport because it keeps your car safer from weather and things that might hit it (and also because enclosed transport offers less space for shared transportation). Enclosed transport leverages trucks that can only carry a cars at a time, usually just two to four.
They also need equipment and the insurance is more costly.
If you have a car, open transport is a cheaper and more common way to go, if you have a fancy car or a classic go for enclosed transport: it’s the better choice.
At Freight Car Europe we give you prices that include all the options so you know what you are paying for. We do not have any hidden costs. You can get an estimate today to ship your car anywhere in Europe, and we will help you find a way that works for your budget and keeps your car safe.
Can you handle dangerous chemicals transport in Europe?
Yes we handle transport of chemicals in Europe. We make sure our shipments are fully compliant with ADR rules. We work with certified carrier partners.
We deal with classes of dangerous goods. We only do it if they meet strict rules. These rules are on quantities, packaging, labelling and documentation. We also need to have carriers on the routes.
To arrange a shipment you need to give us some details. These are:
- The UN number
- The correct classification
- The Safety Data Sheet also called SDS or MSDS
- The exact quantities
- The packaging type
- The delivery addresses
- Your preferred dates
Our drivers are trained in ADR rules. They use approved vehicles. They follow handling procedures every step of the way. We also have cargo insurance. This insurance varies depending on the load.
We have some things we cannot accept. These are:
- Substances
- Unidentified materials
- Poorly packaged items
We are strict, about these things to ensure safe transport.
How does tracking work for goods or vehicles?
Tracking for goods or vehicles with us is handled directly through our support team with clear human updates. We don’t provide a dedicated app or live tracking link, but we keep you in the loop every step of the way.
After booking you receive an immediate confirmation with the pickup window and first ETA. Once the carrier loads your shipment we send a pickup confirmation. During transit you can request route status or dispatch updates at any time and we’ll reply quickly with the latest information. We also send a pre-delivery heads-up the day before arrival.
When the goods or vehicle are delivered we forward the signed proof of delivery together with the consignment note (CMR) or Bill of Loading as required. All updates are shared only with you or your authorized contact. Just reply to our WhatsApp or give us a call whenever you need a quick status check.
Do your services come with insurance options for yacht transport?
When you transport your yacht with us you have insurance options through the cargo insurance that our carrier partners offer. This insurance covers your yacht if it gets damaged or lost by accident during the trip. It also covers the times when we are loading and unloading your yacht onto the cradle.
If you have an expensive yacht we think it is a good idea to tell us the full value of your yacht from the start, this way we can check if you can get insurance coverage. Before you book your trip you can ask us for the insurance certificate so you can see all the details.
We need to know some things from you so we can get the insurance for your yacht. We need to know how much your yacht is worth. We need some recent pictures of it. We also need a report on what condition your yacht’s in, where it is going and how we will pick it up. If you have things or extra parts, on your yacht they are usually not covered by the insurance unless you tell us about them.
That way you will know exactly what is covered by the insurance and what is not. You will have all the information you need to feel safe when you transport your yacht with us.
Can your company move my motorhome internationally?
Yes, we can move your motorhome internationally.
We do this regularly — Germany to France, Spain, UK, Switzerland, Italy, all over Europe really. Both inside the EU and to countries outside.
Just tell us the route (from/to), and roughly when. Send us the size, weight, and say if it drives normally or if it needs winching. Also let us know if there are any big awnings or solar panels.
If you’re going outside the EU there might be some customs forms or VAT to deal with, but we’ll explain everything clearly and help you with the paperwork.
Drop us the details and we’ll send you the best possible quote.
How much does it cost to ship a camper across Europe?
Prices for shipping a camper across Europe vary a lot, because not every carrier can take every motorhome. For a smaller campervan on a common route, you’re often in the high hundreds to low thousands of euros. Longer cross-Europe moves, high-roof models, or heavy motorhomes can land well above that, especially if loading is tricky.
What usually decides the quote is the route and timing, the camper’s true height/length/weight, and whether it drives onto the trailer or needs help. Also, tight streets or no space to load can add cost.
Share the two locations plus dimensions/weight and we’ll give you the best quote we can.
