Van transport

You’ve got a van that’s not in the right location for your work needs? Shipping your van on a vehicle carrier is the easy way to get it moved quickly and get it back to work. Costs and time frames remain reasonable through shared transport and our carriers try to avoid bad weather on route to further optimize shipping times and ensure your business continuity as soon as possible.

It is perfect for everyday things like moving your work van to a new house or a new job. You can also use the service to move your company fleets (useful for delivery companies, plumbers, construction firms, electricians and many other markets) or to pick up a second-hand van that you bought online from another country. If you sold your van to someone who lives away you can use a carrier to transport it to them. Dealers and traders can use them to import and export vans.

Before the carrier picks up your van you need to prepare it

Many work vans are equipped with shelving, tool racks, refrigeration units, or ladder racks installed in the cargo area. These add a few inches to the height and alter the weight distribution slightly, so it is important that the carrier is informed in advance. On the day of the pickup the driver will check the van with you. Write down any damage that it already has.

Our carrier partners will transport your van on the roads and try to avoid bad weather. You can track your van during the trip. When the van arrives you should check it again to make sure everything is okay.

To prepare your van for transport you should do the following things

  • Clean the vehicle inside and out
  • Take pictures of it
  • Remove most of the fuel except for what you’ll need to move it after delivery
  • Remove all your things from the van. In the case where the van has fixed shelving or other equipment that cannot be removed, the carrier should look for alternative ways to prevent the vehicle from moving when in transit.
  • Turn off the alarm. Fold the mirrors
  • Make sure the tires have the right pressure

The advantages of van transport through carrier

You don’t have to drive it yourself which can be very tiring. The carrier will take care of your van and make sure it arrives safely.

Our carriers have insurance that covers your vehicle in case something happens during the transport. However you should remove all your things from the van because they are not covered by the insurance.

If you have a special van, like a camper or a trade van, you should tell us about it so we prepare for the service to make sure your van is safe during the trip.

When you want to ship your van you need to get a quote

You just tell us the usual details about the van (make, model, year, height, roof racks, longer wheelbase and all that) plus exactly where you want it picked up and where it needs to go. Then you can book the transport. You should do this a week in advance to get the best price.

There are two options for van transport

  • Open Transport
This is the cheapest option. Your van will be tied to a trailer with big straps. This option is great for cargo vans and panel vans. However your van might get a dirty from the road.
  • Enclosed Transport
This option is only available for vans of certain dimensions: because vans are generally higher than passenger vehicles, and this is particularly so for high-roof cargo vans. This has meant that some closed trailers are not able to carry these vehicles, and an open trailer with a particular spacing may be required. Than being said, when enclosed transport is possible, your van will be transported inside a trailer. This will protect it from the road and the weather. However it is more expensive than the open transport option.

Choose a carrier that’s reliable and honest

We don’t have any hidden fees in our transports, our quotes are complete and transparent, and we are also able to track your vehicle during the trip.

Overall using a carrier to transport your van is a great idea. It’s dead simple and really safe, and it saves you a massive amount of time and stress.
